Bedford driving school Txt-Drive had another pupil pass their driving test on Friday 17th April in Bedford.
During the driving test, John-Mark from Stewartby, was asked to carry out an emergency stop, parallel park & a left reverse. All of these were done with no driver faults. In total John-Mark made just 4 minor faults.
John-Mark had unfotunately failed his driving test before but he worked with his Txt-Drive driving instructor to improve his driving & was then able to pass his driving test.
John-Mark who attends Bedford College is now looking at doing the Pass Plus course with Txt-Drive.
When asked if he would mind Txt-Drive placing a quote from him on the Txt-Drive website & blog, he said :
“Chris, Thanks alot for being my instructor. Every lesson i had with you was an enjoyable one, I would definatley recommend you to anyone who is looking for a decent instructor.”

The current learner driver training and testing process does not prepare young people for the demands of driving for work, a survey of employers has found.
Three in five company bosses think 17 to 24-year-olds are ill-equipped to cope with the challenges of work-related driving, according to the survey.
More than half of those surveyed would like to see a post-test driving for work qualification introduced, the study, conducted by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA), found.
Three-quarters of employers who responded to the survey said their young workers were driving in situations that were not covered by the current learner driver training and testing process, for example at night or in icy conditions.
And more than two-thirds of employers interviewed on the telephone said their young employees were driving vehicles for work that were larger than a car and in which they were not trained or tested when learning to drive.
Developing safer driver attitudes, driving in different conditions, enhanced hazard perception and motorway driving were the top issues employers would like a post-test qualification to include.
Duncan Vernon, RoSPA’s road safety manager, said: “Our research found that there is a clear skills and training gap. Young workers are being required to drive vehicles, and in conditions and situations, in which they have limited, if any, prior experience.”

Bedford driving school Txt-Drive offers the Pass Plus course which provides post test training. Pass Plus covers subjects including motorways, night driving and all weather driving. Once the course has been completed (6 hours minimum) the driver will receive a one year no-claims bonus on their car insurance. This saving will cover more than the cost of the course.

The European parliament has agreed that from November 2011, all new passenger cars and commercial vehicles must be equipped with the electronic stability programme (ESP) safety system.
Over the first six months of 2008, 56 per cent of newly registered passenger cars in the UK featured ESP, a 30 per cent increase over a period of three years. The new regulations will mean that all new passenger and commercial vehicles registered in the European Union (EU) must be fitted with ESP by November 2011. From November 2014, this will apply to all types of new vehicles.
ESP includes the functions of the anti-lock braking system (ABS) and traction-control system (TCS) while also being able to detect and counteract vehicle skidding. New regulations mean that from 2010, vehicle models will only be able to obtain the Euro NCAP association five-star rating if they are equipped with ESP as standard.
Dr Werner Struth, president of the Chassis Systems Control division at Bosch, said: ‘ESP can prevent up to 80 per cent of all skid-related accidents. After the seat belt, the system is the most important safety technology in the car.’
The compulsory installation of ESP forms part of a wider range of measures by the EU to improve road safety and reduce fuel consumption. As well as ESP, predictive emergency braking and lane-departure warning systems will be mandatory for new models of commercial vehicles weighing more than 3.5 tonnes and for minivans and buses with more than eight seats from November 2013.
Low rolling resistance tyres and tyre pressure monitoring systems will also be made mandatory starting in November 2012. In addition, more than 50 existing EU Directives and 100 amendment regulations will be removed and replaced by UN/ECE regulations where possible.
